Priceless Things

I was looking at an Antique vase that I got when we lived in Hong Kong.  It's one of my favorite things.

I love watching a favorite movie again when I have had a bad day.  Speaking of favorite movies...I love the movie "Same Time Next Year."  Here is the music from one of my favorite movies.  No matter how many times I watch this movie, I enjoy it.

I found the quote from Barbara Taylor Bradford from Power of A Woman:

"Priceless things matter not for their value, but because they offer us an enduring reminder of stability and permanence."

Perhaps this is why I get tremendous comfort from being surrounded by my favorite things and watching a favorite movie a million times.

Karen, you got me again. I can watch Same Time Next Year ENDLESSLY. I'm a huge Alan Alda fan and this film is one of my favorites of his, the music too...just pulls at my heart strings. There is NO DOUBT that surrounding myself with my favorite things and watching a favorite movie is one of the ways I find comfort too.
Okay, now I'm sitting back and listening to the entire song while I sip my coffee. :)
Have a beautiful day, love.

Lovely. Yes, the familiar things bring a measure of comfort and security that this is OUR place, where we belong.

Same Time Next Year with Alan Alda? Odd premise to that movie, but I remember liking it. The familiar can be very comforting. Must be why I enjoy reading the same books over again. That's a beautiful antique!

Good morning Karen!

This vase is simply stunning. The patina of time and craft are evident in this piece and speak volumes of possibilities for ideas on poetry or your art of painting....so many metaphors available to us in life, in the smallest to the grandest objects of observation. HAVE A CREATIVE DAY! Anita

I understand why the vase is a priceless thing to you - lovely memories and its own beauty would make it so.

I so agree! I have some favorite things that aren't as beautiful as your blue and white vase...but I love them just the same. Sweet hugs!
