Cozy at Home

The other evening I was upstairs reading in my favorite chair.  Eavesdropping on the kitchen table conversation going on downstairs.  They were talking about Sarah and Mike's upcoming wedding.

I love listening to them talk and laugh, while I can hear RJ entertain them all with his cute little words and funny dances.  Knowing little Brayden was fast asleep and content and surrounded by love.

It truly warms my heart to know how well they all get on with each other.  My girls didn't always be so lovely to each other, you know how sisters can be sometimes.

Yet now that they have their own lives and have worked out the living arrangement, they are so much more compatible.  The guys are great and I can feel the respect that they have for each other.

The house is large enough so that they have their own space, and Samantha and Cocoa love that RJ runs with them and giggles as they run with him.  Every now and then they will sit down and RJ cuddles up to them.  His favorite word is CO....coca!

Being home with the family has been a joy of course. I have also been taking advantage of going on  drives down old familiar country roads.  Most of all, and don't hate me, but I love seeing the snow again, especially the Gazebo covered in snow.  More snow might arrive Wednesday.

It did snow in Winston Salem though, making me feel right at home. I took a vase of Spring and put it on our patio.

I have been enjoying the corners of my home here, yet with a different kind of feeling.  I am not walking around sniffling about being homesick, like the last time.  This time I am just enjoying it all, favorite chairs, and corners of my home.

This time, I just feel so thankful.

It does take time to adjust to the new normal. So glad that you have had a wonderful visit. I don't hate you for loving the snow, but could you get over it in April? LOL!

Being surrounded by happy family makes anywhere a home doesn't it? Added to your cozy, beautiful house it must be the happiest of places right now:>) I'm so glad you get to enjoy it!

That was a lovely post, Karen.

So glad your family is all together and getting along well.

Wow, you all live in the same house? That is wonderful.

It's so doggone cold here in Western Massachusetts. Don't know when that spring season is going to arrive! Susan

Hi Karen, I know moving and being between homes can be a challenge but having the family so well adjusted certainly helps the process.
Your home is gorgeous and I love the little corners that give you so much joy. That first cozy chair at the top is beautiful.

Even loved the snow pics!!
I am looking at BlueBonnets this week.
Happy Times my friend.
Hugs!

So much to be thankful for indeed, friend. It's those memories that fill the corners of our homes and travel with us wherever we go.
I love that picture of you and your loved ones, and the snow is dreamy.
"Give Me the Simple Life" is one of my absolute favorites. Enjoyed it all here today.
