A Picture Perfect Day

It was a picture perfect day, so we decided to go visit the nearby Wineries in Yadkin Valley.  The first one was hosting Plein-Air artists.

We continued onto the next vineyard and decided to stop at Brandon Hills Vineyard for our wine tasting.

Brandon Hills Vineyards.  We enjoyed tasting the wine, and took a few photographs.  This was my first wine tasting, and it was really fun.  I had no idea that there were so many Wineries in North Carolina.

The three that we visited are literally thirty minutes away.

Our next stop was the Hanover Park Wines.  I sat out the wine tasting here, one wine tasting was enough for me.  But I memorized the setting here while Ned enjoyed a glass of their red wine.

Whether you are outside or inside this lovely place, everything looks wonderful.  I especially loved their Cavalier King Charles Spaniel.  She posed for me.

The woman who poured the wine said that many of the old Tobacco fields in this area have been converted intoto vineyards.

This beautiful old house in the photograph dates back to the 1800's and  the Helton's converted it to the most charming place.

So, until next time, we'll be photographing all the wonderful finds in the Yadkin Valley and beyond.

Have a beautiful day.

I am linking to Mosaic Monday, over at the talented Mary's place.

I find it so interesting to learn about new wine areas. There is quite a viticulture here on Vancouver Island - something I'd never imagined.
I love your remark about 'memorising the setting' - that's what I do. We don't always need a photograph, do we?

I have only been to a couple of the wineries here in NC. We actually have two right here in Hendersonville! I haven't been to those yet. I love visiting wineries. It takes me back to Italy and France.

Ahhhhhh....as I inhale and take in the beauty of YOUR world here, Karen! Just like France and Northern California (where I visited my sister in law), we went to taste champagne at Korbel Wineries.

Karen, your excursions have always been so special to me, and it's always a treat to look into your Scrapbook of Inspiration, where your memories come alive.

LOVE your photos! Anita

It has that "colonial" quality for sure. Lots of photo ops and the dog is so adorable. She was either posing for you or she couldn't get down.

Touring vineyards is such a pleasant way to spend a day. I've never visited any in California, but enjoyed our wine tasting tour in Provence several years ago. I'm from the same area as Pondside (in the comment above) and think that a wine tour here would be fun.
Love the photo of the plein artist's work.
