Let it Snow

Let it Snow, originally uploaded by bluebirdsandteapots.

Well, it has been icy and snowy for quite a few days now and tomorrow we are supposed to have more snow. So, I am guessing that we will have a white Christmas after all...

Speaking of White Christmas, I saw the movie Sunday, where this wonderful song was originally sung. Bing Crosby still steals my heart when I hear his voice singing this song.

I just love this time of year, so many wonderful Christmas classics are on TV. I was wrapping gifts and I put on the movie It's A Wonderful Life. Don't you just love George? When ZuZu says "Look, Daddy. Teacher says, every time a bell rings an angel gets his wings", I melt. Yet I have probably watched this movie at least one hundred times, but still that line can make me cry.

I love being in the kitchen or family room, watching Christmas movies and wrapping gifts. Top it off with a cup of hot chocolate and....it's Christmas. Some other favorites are Miracle on 34th Street, Prancer, Rudolph, and Babes In Toyland with Laurel and Hardy, just to name a few. If you want a hoot, here is the link to watch the original movie trailer from 1934 adversiting Laruel & Hardy's latest adventure.

Here is the link to the movie trailer for Prancer, which was filmed in 1989. My newest favorite is The Holiday with Cameron Diaz and Jude Law. This is a wonderful romantic comedy that is filmed in California and England. The soundtrack isn't Christmassy, but it is so lovely. I love the remake and the original of Miracle on 34th Street. Do you have any favorite Christmas movies?

P.S. There is this delightful blog called Daisy Bouquet. If you want a break away from malls, shopping and the bustle and rush of Christmas, stop by Mary Isabella's blog to read an old fashioned Christmas story that will make you relax and feel like you are sitting with Mary Ingles.

The song for this post is White Christmas, sung by Bing Crosby.

Cocoa & Sam & Snow Well now Cocoa and Samantha can't watch those old glorious movies, but they sure do love to play in the snow!

Thank you for making a return visit to my blog, Karen! I love all of my vintage things. Each of them hold a memory for me! Stop by often. If you visited me in Vermont, I would gladly make you hot cocoa and share my treasures with you.

My favorite holiday movie is the one that inspired White Christmas. Every year I rope one of my daughters into watching "Holiday Inn" with me. Ah, Bing. Merry Christmas!
