A Bouquet of Awards

My creation, originally uploaded by bluebirdsandteapots.

Some Blogs just make you smile

What a lovely surprise when I received a note saying that I had won some awards. Receiving an award in Blogland is like receiving a bouquet of flowers and some chocolate. Unexpected joy, I say.

My friend Maria from Maria Pogadszki in Poland gave me this lovely Gift From The Heart. Maria is 78 years old and has the most wonderful blog, filled with all kinds of surprises. When I see a comment from Maria it always makes me smile. Maria is so clever that she figured out how to use google translator to enable her to read international blogs. She does have the link at the upper left-hand corner of her blog. Most of her posts she writes in both English and Polish.

I would like to give this lovely gift to:

Rhondi from Rose Colored Glasses By the way, she wrote a post for Tuesday that is so gorgeous. She has photographs of her GORGEOUS quilts and beautiful home. Be sure the stop by and enjoy the tour.

The lovely Dana from Stone Rabbit gave me this Kreativ Blogger Award. I first started reading Dana's blog when I joined Pink Saturday. Every week she comes up with the most imaginative and fun posts. She is so funny and I can't wait to read her blog. Here are the rules for this award:

As the recipient of this award I am supposed to tell 6 things that make me happy and pass the award on.

Take Time To Smell The Flowers
Some things that make me happy are:

A bouquet of flowers
Spending time with my daughters
Seeing my pets Samantha, Cocoa and Mittens faces
A snowy day with a fire in the fireplace
painting
Sitting by the ocean on a cold day with a cup of chawda*
(*translation Massachusetts word for New England clam chowder)

I would like to pass the Kreativ Blogger Award to:

Susan from One Knit One Purl
Celestina Maria from La Rea Rose
Lisa from A Whimsical Bohemian
Dawn from Dawn's Daybreak

Kate from Our Red House gave me this I Heart Your Blog Award. Kate just recently moved to Adelaide Australia. Kate’s blog is always full of wonderful words, adventures and recipes. Now following her adventure with her recent move, I love reading about what it is like in Adelaide and I can't wait to read what she will be discovering next.

Here are the rules for this award...

The rules for this award are as follows:

1) I have to pick 7 of my favorite blogs and…
2) The winner can put the logo on their blog
3) Link the person you received your award from
4) Nominate at least 7 other blogs.
5) Put links of those blogs on yours.
6) Leave a message on the blogs of the ones you’ve nominated.

I would like to give this award to:

Kathy from Kathy's Cottage
Penny from Lavender Studios
Mary Isabella from Daisy Bouquet
Tara from Days Missed on a Hammock
Gabriela Delworth from Gabriela Delworth
Terisa from Running With Scissors
Marina from Only Cute Thing

There is this wonderful farm nearby and this time of year they sell large tin cans filled with Zinias, daisies and Sun Flowers in bright yellow and brown. The beautiful bouquet, can and all is just $5.99, what a treat. Wishing you a day filled with bouquets of flowers.

The song for this post is Almond Joy...hmmm one of my favorite kinds of chocolate!

Hi Karen: Well, the pile of awards you received certainly does show how much we love you and your blog! I so enjoyed reading about them and the blogs you passed them on to.

How lucky you are to have a spot that sells such wonderful flowers--I just love it that they are in a can!

Have a great day! Dana

The tin can is PERFECT for those flowers! It's getting harder and harder to find tin cans, ever notice that more and more, products are being packaged in plastic?
Congrats on the awards, I love your blog, it's one I visit daily.

Hi, it's me again. I just visited the link to your friend Maria in Poland. This may sound dumb (I'm still fairly new to the blogging scene), but how do you know what she's saying in the sidebars if you aren't fluent in Polish? It's wonderful to see another side of the world, but I'm barely fluent in English, so I'd have a difficult time with other languages. Just wondering.

Maria, is so cool, at 78 years old she has figured out that google translator helps her to read all of the international blogs. She writes most posts in both English and Polish, but you can use the google translator which she has on the upper left hand corner of her blog. Karen
