Getting Ready for Halloween

My creationSoon the skies will have that look of October, when the moon reminds you that Halloween is very near.

My creationWe went to Salem, Massachusetts over the weekend and went on the Haunting tour. My daughters and I walked behind a very scary looking guy holding a lantern and leading us to very spooky places and telling very scary tales.

I love Salem at Halloween, my favorite movie called Hocus Pocus was filmed there. Our little trip got me in the mood to create a little something for Halloween.

My creationThis Little Witch is designed after a scene I remember well when my daughter Sarah dressed up as a witch one Halloween. Is there anything more darling than little kids in the Halloween costumes?

So, I decided to create some Halloween cards for my shop.

And Trick or Treat ones too...

Halloween is such a magical time with parties to bob for apples and wishes to say Trick or Treat. So, I thought why not create some cards for my little shop, that were blank inside for your personal greeting or an invite to a scary feast or party.

My creationHalloween is filled with little tikes in masks and costumes, candy filled pumpkins, and so much fun.

And before we know it is is Halloween night...

My Halloweens tend to be a bit cuter than scary, but the music for this post is called Scary Music. ooooooooooooh this music is just perfect to get us all in the mood for a Vanessa party of course. Miss Vanessa from A Fanciful Twist is hosting yet another fun party on October 18th.

So, mark your calendars and if you would like to join in visit her here.My creation

Too bad Hallloween isn't celebrated over here, so I signed up for a few swaps and of course I will join Vanessa's party. The mad tea party was so much fun, I'm looking forward to this one, you too?
Have a nice day!

Good morning Karen,

Salem must be one of the most magical places I have visited...
They have an incredible Wax Museum!
And meeting Ms.Laurie Cabot in person was an experience!
I should dig and try to find those photos...it was a long time ago...
I am so on for this party at Vanessa's!

Karen, an awesome Halloween post. You have a great talent and I am loving all your cards. The music is perfect. Every Halloween we would play scary music by our front door and the trick or treaters would sometimes have to be coaxed for their treat. Smile. Here in the mountains we do not have any kids on Halloween. I miss it. Most of the people are so far apart and the roads are pitch black at night. Plus wild animals. Not a great place for kids to walk at night.

Hugs, Jeanne

I love Halloween such a favorite time of year and Salem is one of my fave places to visit, I haven't been there in a few years, I always go during the October time for the Halloween Happenings, Met so many wonderful people the last time, including Laurie Cabot, she was so nice.

Loved this wonderful post, it has me ready for Salem time!

Ooh, I love Halloween. We play "Halloween" music at our house that night, too. I love the little trick-or-treat folks the most. They are so cute.

Love your post Karen! I haven't had so much fun since my boys were little and dressing up for Halloween. We don't even get trick or treaters where we live. Too far out in the country... Your cards are adorable.

Loved this post, Karen! I think I took the girls to see Hocus Pocus a couple of times when it was out - once in a theater and once at the drive-in... I just love that movie - especially the scenes where the landscape and trick-or-treating streets are featured! I'm thinking my now 'grown up' daughters and I should try to get tickets to one of those Salem tours! We haven't been to Salem in so many years... Have a great weekend!...Donna
