Mosaic Monday

My creation

oday is Mosaic Monday, and Mary from Little Red House, is hosting this lovely day.

Old letters and books

Ever since I was a little girl, old books, letters and photographs always get my attention. I remember browsing through drawers filled with old photographs at my Grandmother's home and creating stories about them. Later, I always had my nose in some old book so that I could get lost in my imagination. I love to read old letters and imagine what it was like to live back in the day.

Please visit Mary and find all the beautiful mosaics being celebrated today. When we first moved to Asia, I discovered the romantic music of China and Japan. The song for this post is It's Hard to Say.

You are so right... nothing like old letters to stir memories that have been long past.

Books, especially if they are worn show one that must have wonderful content... those are the first ones i pick up. If they look "just like new" says something to me. :) and I leave them for someone elses' bookself to look pretty.

Have the best week!

Me too! Oh I love that collection of postcards with written notes. Makes me wanna reach for it and read too LOL

Just dropping by from Pink Saturday. Oh boy am I late :-) Isn't it nice to have a friend who you can truly relate to? Your friend is your treasure and I'm sure she felt the same way towards you. Both priceless! :-)

Good morning dear friend,
What a beautiful post; I love old books, photographs and letters as well. You can stare at them for hours and get transported back into time and only imagine. That is good for the mind and heart! I do hope that Amy is doing better; I prayed for her and visited her auntie's site. God bless you dearest, Anita

I love old photos and old books too! Sometimes you read really strange stuff. When I was a child I always read old school books at my granny's house. My brother and I loved to read, so we read every book that was available there. Of course she had other books to. I was 8 when I read Anne Frank's diary for the first time.
Great photos. Old books are not only lovely to read, but also beautiful to look at. Have a great start of the week!

Email is so convenient, but letters seem like a gift! I wish there were a way to encourage more writing. It is truley exciting to see a handwritten letter anymore. This mosaic is just lovely:>)

I love your mosaics today...the black and white photos are magnificent! I love the old tattered books, bundles of old letters and photos. I always wonder when I see old photos at antique stores, why the families didn't keep them.
Hugs,
Penny

Hi Karen, This post reminds me of my parents. My mother saved every letter and card my father ever gave her. After they passed away we sat and read them. They were filled with so much love and warmth. It was a comfort to us. Sharon
