Pink Saturday

Today is Pink Saturday, and Bev from How Sweet The Sound has lots of Pink Posts to read.
I heard an inspiring story while living in Canada. One of the most famous coat designers there at the time, Linda Lundstrom designed beautiful pastel coats with pastel faux fur trim. Her designs always made the cold winters in Ontario lovely and warm.
When you wore one of these coats in the bitter Canadian winters, you looked like a million bucks and everyone recognized the designs. I loved that she designed for full figure women as well as the size 2's.
The inspiration for these coats came to her in a dream. She dreamt of a little girl sitting against the Northern Lights, wearing a pink parka with a pink fur trim. When she awoke she went in search of a manufacturer who could provide pastel faux fur trim. The rest is history.
Today her colors have changed from her sweet pastels, but this season's collection is just as dreamy as I remember when I lived in Toronto.
When Spoonflower asked for submissions to design a doll panel, I knew just what to design. Here is the little girl doll I call Northern Light Dreams. This little doll is how I imagine the little girl in Linda's dream. It brings back lovely memories of winter nights in Ontario and lovely pink LaParkas with pink fur trim.
You can go HERE and see all the fabulous doll panel designs and vote for your favorite.
Happy Pink Satuday, and pay attention to your dreams, you just never know what might happen. Speaking of dreams, there is a dreamy blog you might want to visit called Rose Chintz Cottage Inspirations.
What could be dreamier than a pink parka against a white winter's snow. The song for this post is The Snowman's Music Box.
Karen, that doll is just sooooooo cute! I went over and clicked on your picture, and I'm not sure if that's how you vote or not... but I tried to vote for you.
Happy Pink Saturday!
XO,
Sheila :-)
A very nice pink post!
Karen,
Amy has her wings tonight. My heart is so heavy. Thank you for everything. You left such an impact in her life, and I so enjoyed looking at her pillowcases and quilt each day that I was there. It brightened her days. She loved them. I will post more when I know something. I am so alone out here, and I so wanted to be there. I guess it just wasn't meant to be. Love, Sherry

Oh how wonderful to dream of pink fur and since in VT we have winters almost as bad as Canada the pink fur would be luscious against all the white snow. Loved your post. Blessings Meg
ooo so pretty..I want her outfit!
Happy Pink Saturday
My dearest Karen,
How lovely of you to come to my recipe blog and what fun to share the love of Audrey Hepburn! I have seen that magnificent book with the letters....she died the same year and at the same age of my mom; both of cancer. I wept when she passed away. She was such an angel, like my momma. OH! I GOT THE CARD TODAY and both my husband and I were so blessed and amazed at the beauty and kindness of its artist. I will cherish it and display it in my white curio cabinet!!! Oh you must try that recipe. Adjust it to your taste. Anita
Love the story about the designer and the coat inspiration. The doll is so cute! Happy Pink Saturday!

Ok...I need one of those coats...getting cold here in the Midwest already! Happy Pink Saturday!
I'd vote for that. I'm going as soon as I finish this post.
Happy PiNk to you!
I love this story of how this lady realized her *dream*...literally! The collection is beautiful and yes...anyone would look like a million dollars!
I can always work out details in my dreams...I think about all of the steps I've taken so far thus setting the stage for the dream.
I once dreamed of how to sew and turn a hat lining..which was twisting my brain inside out while reading the instructions...I awoke and knew how to do it step by step...I ran to the studio and did it right away. :0)
I wonder how many can manifest their dreams this way? I bet more than we think.
Anyway....I love hearing about stuff like this. :0)
Hugs,
Stephanie
