Pink Saturday
Friday, March 05, 2010
Today is Pink Saturday, and Bev from How Sweet The Sound is hosting this fun pink day. Some enchanting evening. I remember walking to High School and singing this song all the way to school. Once a romantic, always a romantic.
When I moved to Princeton, my neighbors who lived above me were in love with the soundtrack from South Pacific, which they would play over and over again.
My husband lived next door at the time, and we had just met. Perhaps it was a sign when I could hear this song play over and over again.
Listening to inspirational music while I create is another favorite thing I love to do. It always makes me feel like I am living in an old movie. The music seems to lull me onto some creative journey.
It seemed fitting to introduce you to a lovely creation which is totally enchanting and romantic, with this song playing in the background.
The lovely Karen Provost of A Favor's A Favor, gave me this beautiful gift wrapped in her own creative way.
This is a Glitter Station. OMG!!! Don’t you just want to squeal with delight? She took a vintage wine glass added a charm and bow with the words "Glitter Me" written on the glass.
I placed this lovely glass on this mirror to show off the glittery shine against the silver glitter that was included in this gift.
Karen added a vintage spoon to serve just the right amount of glitter. How lovely.
It made me think, wouldn’t it be delightful to have a glitter party?
Inspired by her design, I have created some glittery things.
Karen is an instructor at the amazing Ink About It. This treasure is as dreamy and romantic as this song...Some Enchanting Evening.
Thank you Karen, I love this so much. Of course it has inspired many romantic creations.
Now I am sending you over to Ginger's place at Glitter and Roses. You should see her lovely Pink Saturday post for today.
That is a lovely piece, Karen, and as usual, I loved reading your post. I'm not on the train this Saturday because I'm traveling in the morning, but I thought I would stop in for a visit tonight!
XO,
Sheila :-)
You can never have enough glitter! What do you think about a little "Alice" on Sunday? I should be free in the afternoon after a photo class in the morning. Let's make it a magical weekend!
How beautiful. Love your glitter stations. Hope you have a wonderful Pink Saturday!!!! Cheers, Lia
Glitter is even better when it comes in a beautiful glass with an antique spoon and it gets even more better when this is a gift! Enjoy! Happy Pink glittery Saturday!
Hello, dear Karen,
Oh how I love South Pacific and all of the wonderful songs from it. I can remember going to the theater with my sweet momma and seeing it for the first time. Your glitter station is fantastic and what a wonderful present for you! Have a fun, creative weekend and Happy Pink Saturday to you! Vicki
What a special, elegant gift. I love the Paris cards you are making. And would really like to hear more of that story about the guy next door.
Good morning dearest one! How are your eyes? Mine are terribly irritated for some reason now for about 3 days....your glitter fest here is TDF....I never tire of the stuff, and will be doing a post on glitter coming soon. Today is my 28th wedding anniversary; come by if you can and meet Ruben.
HAPPY PINK SATURDAY! Anita
Karen,
Another wonderful post. I will grab your button later today! I just love your artwork.

Very shiny! This post reminded me of my mother's words, "NO GLITTER!" and it made me laugh. When our kids were little, I figured it out. After we had glittered things up I'd have glitter on myself for weeks. A sparkle on my cheek or on a shoe - embedded deep in the rugs. I still love it though and I enjoy glittery skin products, too! Happy Pink Saturday, Karen!
Oh Karen...you gotta love the glitter!!! How beautiful..and I think I need that "glitter station"!
Have a lovely pink day..xo Tami
