Pink Saturday

Today is Pink Saturday and Bev from How Sweet The Sound is hosting. Bev is featuring my blog today. Thank you so much Bev, you are always full of surprises.
A love letter is a romantic way to express feelings of love in written form.
Delivered by hand or by mail or romantically left in a secret location.
Poetry and the sonnets by William Shakespeare are often quoted within a love letter.
Sometimes lipstick kisses can be seen on the letter,
sealed with a kiss.
Pretty stationery and special envelopes only add to the romance of a love letter.
Sometimes the letter is scented with lovely perfume.
My mother told me that during WW II the women often slept with their love letters underneath their pillows, in hopes that they would dream of their lovers who were overseas.
I recently found love letters from 1894. Special keepsakes especially for Valentine's Day.
Love letters are such a wonderful keepsake. Whether adding a ribbon and stacking them for decoration or slipping them into a card or Valentine for someone special...love letters are always lovely.
Another good idea is to stop by and visit my friend Nancy, from My Crafty Little Page. I am sure she will have a lovely Pink Saturday post for you to enjoy.
The adorable Danny Kaye is singing the song for this post, My Heart Knows A Lovely Song.
P.S. Please take home any images from this post for your personal use.

Hello Karen, I really enjoyed reading your featured blog on Beverly's post. I have to say I was familiar with your beautiful artistic blog and have loved it for a long time. I know I am not so faithful to visit but when I do find some time to visit I always scroll down to see what I have missed. Today I enjoyed your darling Pink Saturday post and the love letters are treasures no matter who wrote them. Love like that is always inspiring. We have our parents love letters and it is a joy to read them. They loved each other for 47 years together. Then my mom went to heaven. The love letters you shared and posted sure brought back the memory of my parent's love for each other.
I also loved the blizzard post. Boy, you really had snow. Your memories are mine too. Snow forts, snowmen and sledding is a fond memory for me too. We lived in MI then. Lots of snow. Smile
Then Betsy McCall and paper dolls. Gosh it seems like life was so much simpler then. I love you paper doll outfits.
Happy Pink Saturday.
Hugs, Jeanne
What a beautiful post Karen! I love the look of a stack of love letters tied up with ribbon. Happy Pink Saturday!
I love The Court Jester...yay! :) I also loved your images...very cute!

Happy Pink Saturday, sweet friend. It makes me smile to come here and see so many know your kind heart well. You are a gift to all of us.
And, love letters make me happy. When I was a young girl, I thought lipstick kisses were so romantic. I remember practicing making lipstick kisses.
What a beautiful Pink Sat. post!
xx Liz
Congrats on being profiled this Saturday. About the WW2 loveletters. I found a cache of my parents letters from that era. Some of the the letters were funny to me because Daddy wanted Mama to write EVERY day and then fussed because she included such mundane things as how many quarts of tomatoes they canned that day. Mama told him it was hard to think of anything interesting to talk about EVERY day. And yet some of the letters showed a romantic side of my father I never new existed. I have saved all of the letters, not only because it is a link to my parents whom are both deceased now but also a family history of the people that surrounded their lives.
Your art work is beautiful and soothing at the same time. I enjoy visiting here often.
Mary
Lovely, romantic post. Lovely birds and I'd love to have come across old love letters.
Delightful
Happy Pink Saturday,
Kathy
Dearest friend, your choice of words with your art are always well organized and perfectly communicated...I can FEEL THE LOVE!!!! HAPPY DAY dear, Anita

Karen,

Happy Pink Saturday!

I love the fact that Beverley selected you to profile today, Karen! And what a lovely post. Enjoyed every word, every photo, every drawing, and Danny Kaye, too!
Sending you much love on this beautiful Saturday...
XO,
Sheila :-)
P.S. I actually fell asleep last night in my chair, Karen, waiting for your blog to load! When I woke up, all I could do was creep to my bed and fall in. So I'm back! I have to check, though, and make sure I didn't write something unintelligible in my tired stuppor. One never knows. ;-)
Just curious, where did you find the letters from the 1800s? Your post was very intereting this week.

I love your delicate watercolours - so pretty, and such wonderful colouring. Happy Pink Saturday, and congratulations on being the Featured Blog (well deserved). Hugs from the UK
Karen, such a lovely post...I once bought an estate sale batch of cards that spanned many years...valentines, birthday, anniversary, Christmas "to my Husband" and an equal nuumber "to my Wife". the artwork and style looked like they were from maybe the 50's to the 70's or even 80's...but not a single one was signed...? Isn't that strange...I have imagined that each included a letter instead of a signature. The music was reallly nice...I had forgotten that Danny Kaye could sing. Happy Pink Saturday.
Beautiful images!!! Thanks for them we are making Valentine's at church....m....
Hi Karen~
Stopping by your blog has been a real treat! I am scrapbook challenged, so it was even more fun for me to see all that you created. I am going to use your Alice in Wodnerland - one of my favorite stories. Thank you for stopping by my place. I appreciate it so much!
Happy Pink Saturday!
Those are some pretty pinks : )
You bring tears to my eyes with this post. Friend, you are the best. Your art, the subject so dear. Thank-you. Blessings.
I can always count on your post being so fun and pretty Karen. Love letters!....I have never found any and if I did, I don't think I would read them. I do have the stack Bobby G. wrote me though and yes they are tied up with a pink ribbon. :) How wonderful that you were profiled this week. You are a special lady. xoxo
