Pink Babushka Inspiration

Babushka Garland

I know, I know first comes Halloween, then Thanksgiving and finally Christmas.

But I wanted to create some kits for crafters, giving them enough time to make them for Christmas.

Santa Hanging Ornament

I designed this Babushka hanging ornament for an upcoming contest on Spoonflower next week.  We were asked to fit it on an 8" square swatch and include directions.
A Babushka Hanging Ornament in French Script

Then I used the same pattern to create a Santa design.

Santa Hanging Ornaments

There are two designs for each one.  A swatch to create one ornament, that square measures 8 x 8 inches.  I also designed the Santa and the Babushka Doll designs to create nine 12 x 12" squares fitting on One Yard of Quilting Cotton Fabric.   Each square houses the hanging ornament cut-out pattern.

I want to make kits using these two and a few others that I am designing.

Joyeux Noel, A French Merry Christmas with Pere Noel
It would be nice to make nine stuffed hanging ornaments for a Christmas tree or banner.  I just ordered some sample swatches.

When they arrive I'll make samples to make sure my directions work.

Babushka Nesting Doll ornaments

It's so nice that it is designed with bits of pink.  I could see this in a little girl's room at Christmas.  Pink...Just in time for Pink Saturday.  Bev from How Sweet The Sound hosts Pink Saturday.  Stop by and enjoy all the pink posts.

On the subject of Pink,  One of my fabrics was featured on this lovely treasury called THINK PINK.

These designs will be in my French Script Christmas collection, and available on my etsy shop and on my Spoonflower Gallery.

The music is from my favorite Snowy animation.  The song is from The Snowman, it's called the Snowman Music Box.

I LOVE THESE COLORS rather than the traditional reds...these colors keep SPRING and SUMMER involved in the winter process and lend a cool and crisp feel. Hello there Karen! Beautiful KAREN!!!

Well it may not be Christmas time yet but your timing is perfect, you have to think ahead for these things! Such adorable ornaments, you are right, they would look wonderful in a little girls room for Christmas!

I knew that I recognized that song...

Can't wait until you've worked them up using your directions. They're going to be so lovely and, yes, perfect, for a room with more pastels than traditional Christmas colors.

Karen, these are too cute!
I spent part of the day on Wednesday cleaning out the garage. I had help and we attacked one side. Threw a lot of stuff away. I found 3 boxes of crafts that belonged to my Mother. She passed away in 1993 so you can imagine what kind of shape a lot of these things were in! To make a long story short (!!!!), I have kit after kit of ornament to make from felt ... much like your adorable ornaments! If I can get my afghans done for Christmas presents, I have enough to keep me busy for a year! But just think of all the gifts I'll have made!!!!

Gracious but your do lovely work! And you are so generous too. Thank you much!

Have a happy weekend...

Gentle hugs,
"O hushed October morning mild,
Thy leaves have ripened to the fall;
Tomorrow's wind, if it be wild,
Should waste them all.
The crows above the forest call;
Tomorrow they may form and go.
O hushed October morning mild,
Begin the hours of this day slow.
Make the day seem to us less brief.
Hearts not averse to being beguiled,
Beguile us in the way you know.
Release one leaf at break of day;
At noon release another leaf;
One from our trees, one far away."

KAREN!!!!!!!!!!!!! Beautiful, beautiful KAREN! I so love your new picture!

Precious friend, thank you for thinking of me and coming last night. I was SO TIRED from the work week that I was unable to post as usual. I will be working on my post this morning. Work is insane. All of us teachers are exhausted and over-loaded with more work than I have ever seen in the nine years I have been teaching. I really wish there was a way I could make a living out of BLOGGING! teeeheee...for I so enjoy writing and creating, but my creativity is being pushed back for I simply cannot keep up with the demands of work AND produce good art or writing. This past summer was a breakthrough for me, but it wasn't until the tail end of the summer that I finally got the nerve to say I would sell my art. My Etsy shop is almost ready to open and I have no idea what to expect. BUT I WILL take your advice from a while back and advertise it on Facebook, as well as my blog.

Well, off I go to see if I can write an inspiring blog post!!! Come by later this afternoon dear one, if you have a moment. Anita
