Texture Inspiration

Sometimes if I take out my supplies, and I begin to paint, the paint seems to lead my inspiration.

Undressed photo

That's what  happens when I receive my new texture from Kim each week. The Texture inspires me to match it with just the right photo.  This week's Texture Tuesday is the Free and Easy eDition.

For this week, I took a piece of watercolor paper, scanned it, resized it, and I use it for my first layer of texture.  I like using it to create a painterly look.  Or if I just want to make it look like a painting.

You are welcome to take this home

I used my watercolor paper layer, then added Kim Klassen's Photomask pastel.  (love this photomask) and I changed the swatches to reflect the colors in the photo.

I then added a layer of Kim's Silence texture using Multiply, at 58% opacity.  I adjusted the Gradient Map using the primary color combination, and used Multiply at 28% opacity. Then I added the text.

If you stop by at Kim's Cafe, you will find lots of texture inspiration waiting for you to explore.

Peace and beauty are always found here dear Karen. I am running off to work now, but yesterday I had fun staying home, nursing a bad stomach, but creating my newest for my Etsy shop. LOVELY INSPIRATION! Anita

I really love all the things you do with texture. Do you have to have photoshop for this?

Isn't that the truth?! Half the battle with any task is the getting started. I think that I am not using the backgrounds to their best advantage. That'll be the next thing to explore.

Have a delightful day, Karen. I see you there painting away and enjoying it. Oh there's a steaming mug of tea, too!
