It was a beautiful day, and I knew that there was snow in the forecast for later in the week, so I grabbed my camera and set out for the Cape. There's always interesting finds along the way.
Swans always know the best places to live.
I went to the beach with my camera hung from around my neck, a cup of hot coffee in one hand and a bag with a warm popover in the other.
I love the ocean, and listening to the sound of the waves hitting the shore. Seagulls flying overhead calling out to each other (I think they smelled my popover).
So, I stayed until sunset,
to memorize the day for you and me.
It's a good thing I followed my intuition, what a difference a day makes. Look what happened the next day.
Yes, you called that trip correctly. I laughed to see the seagulls sniffing the popover. Did you share? Knowing you, you probably did. (I remember the summer that my sister and I took a picnic to the beach. It was all wrapped up in a bag with nothing opened at all and those gulls swooped in and took off with our lunch. I have been highly indignant ever since. I think it was their raucous laughter over it all that fried me the most.
Beautiful images and lovely time away. I hope that it restored you body and soul.
Wow...what a difference a day makes! I love the lighthouse photos and the view of the ocean! Just beautiful, my friend! ♥
Your pictures tell the beautiful story of your day! Delicious in every way!
XO,
Jane
Karen, you live in one of my favorite parts of the US. Thanks for taking me along to the shore today. I feel the breeze on my face and the sand between my toes. Oh, yes! ~ sarah
Loved the photos, Karen. I could hear those gulls and smell that popover and coffee. Beautiful job! Susan
I am SOOOO jealous, Karen. I love the ocean..really love it and am always moved by it. Your pictures are wonderful and I felt, looking at them, like I was right there with you- xo Diana

Thank you my dear friend for taking me back to a time when Ruben and I discovered who we going to be.....thank you. Anita
Ohhh how I long to be on the Cape, in winter, spring, summer or fall. Looking at each photo brings back so many memories and also tugs my heartstrings. Cape Cod is the place of my dreams and a dream I made come true for a few years.
*a wistful sigh*
Karen, thank you for this wonderful treat! Even though I live right near the Cape, I never think to take a ride there for a day trip. It's such a beautiful place. Your pictures are gorgeous :)
What a wonderful day trip! Beautiful! Gulls are so funny. They can always *find* the good food! :D :D Hugs to you!
Perfect timing! I think you were inspired to go when you did and your pictures certainly tell the story. I love warm popovers but they aren't as popular here on the west coast as they are in MA - where I eat too many of them if I visit! I've pinned so many beauties from your blog - thanks for sharing!
Have a wonderful weekend and stay warm!
Robin
I soooo wish I had a place like this to visit. This is when I wished time travel was at our fingertips. This would've been a great girls drive. Some day...huh? Simply fabulous shots!! I especially love the light house. Glorious
