Ricky Junior has arrived

Announcing the birth of my first Grandson, Richard A. Gibson Jr. who arrived on August 18, 2012 at 12:30 in the afternoon.

As I sat by Ashley's bedside, across the room, I captured the daddy, our Ricky admiring his new little son, Ricky Junior.

Once Ashley was into her recovery room, these two lovebirds couldn't get enough of their new bundle of joy.

Ashley and Ricky are so thrilled.  It was a very long labor.  My little baby was brave and Ricky and I were able to stay in the room when they decided to do a C-section.

Ashley's labor began early Friday morning, she arrived at the hospital and they sent her home to be comfortable before hard labor began.  At 10 PM Friday evening we all rushed to the hospital. Ricky and I were able to be there for it all, and throughout the night we looked on as the wonderful hospital staff swaddled my daughter in loving care.  Finally after being in hard labor for twelve hours she was rushed into the operating room for a C-secion.  The baby arrived at 12:30 in the afternoon on Saturday.

My daughters, Sarah and Ashley holding Ricky.  I have a baby picture of Sarah holding her new little sister, Ashley somewhere in my photo album.  I have to find that one and share these side by side.  Here we all are, the first to embrace our new little one.

From left to right: Me, Sarah, Ricky's father, Ashley, Ricky Jr., Ricky and his sister, Katie who introduced Ashley and Ricky. Mike, Sarah's boyfriend is behind the camera. Mike helped out so much during this time, he is another sweetheart. Katie's  boyfriend was there too, but not in the photo.

Here is the cutie nurse, who took care of Ashley throughout her hard labor and was in the delivery room to greet him.  Geri was amazing, I cannot believe everything that she was able to do to help Ashley be as comfortable as possible during a difficult birth.  The staff at the hospital and Ashley's doctor were amazing and I am so thankful that they kept baby and mom safe.

I feel a bit jet lagged, but I had to share some photos with you.  Ashley will be in the hospital until Wednesday, so  I'll try to get some more nice photos to share.

Thank you for all of your prayers.  God heard them and blessed our family with your answered prayer.

August 20th update.  I am writing this from the hospital.  Ashley and little Ricky are wonderful.  As soon as I return home, I'll update some new photos on a new post.  Thank you again for your lovely comments and prayers.

August 21, on my way to the hospital, but here's a few more photos of this little guy.  He gets cuter by the day.

Have a beautiful day.
