To distract myself I have been designing kitchen towels. My new obsession. Everywhere I go, I see the most interesting kitchen towels.
Anticipation...nobody sings it better than Carly. Carly Simon is writing her memoir. She just celebrated her 68th birthday and you can find more about her latest news on her web site.
So, I decided to design four kitchen towels on one yard of Linen Cotton Canvas fabric. Dishtowels by the yard. A cut and sew design. I made some of them up, to show you what they look like.
I designed Hydrangea dishtowels in four different designs. These dishtowels have companion fabrics in my Cape Cod Hydrangea fabric collection.
Of course there had to be Little Women dishtowels.
I am working on some Jane Austen dishtowels with some Jane Austen quotes.
You're on to something with these! When I can't afford something new for the house, I treat myself to a new tea towel.
They're so pretty!
I hope the waiting, the anticipation is soon over!
Wow, Karen. What a great idea. The hydrangea reminds me of the painting of my pitcher of hydrangeas you gave me. I will always treasure it.
You are always in my prayers.
What pretty towels! I love the colors and designs Karen.
I don't know what you are going through, but I will be praying that you will not be anxious and that all will be well with you and your family.
Oh Karen, that anticipation, I understand what you're talking about. Let's both pray that each day will lead us down peaceful paths of trust. It is VERY UNNERVING, but what else are we to do....but DO ART!!!!!!
And your towels, OH DEAR, what a stunning idea! Imagine the designs you can come up with? SAILBOATS? French script? (I would scoop that up in a hot minute from you!)
Keep calm and make art. What else do we have to do but to ACT in faith and let God unravel the rest. Anita
Hi Karen, this collection is stunning. I love it and the colors are so gorgeous. You are incredible. I am still struggling with getting designs to be seamless, but I studied a program for that and I am still working on it. It certainly is a process.
In the meantime, I did post for WBC. I just had to participate for the 5th year and did not want to miss it. I am trying to organize my days to be back in the fall hopefully.
Have a great week and thank you for the inspiration today.
My prayers are with you for the anticipation troubling you. May God show you the way.
Hugs, Celestina Marie XO
