The Hydrangeas are in Bloom

I was so excited to learn that this year there would be a Hydrangea festival on the Cape.  Here is a video that talks about the many things that happened this year.

Joyce and I took a ride to see the Hydrangeas at the Heritage Gardens in Sandwich, Massachusetts.

This year there were garden tours throughout the Cape.  I wish I could have been able to visit a few.

I was in heaven amongst the bees, butterflies and blue Hydrangeas.  A beautiful butterfly played hide and seek and tried to elude my camera by hiding behind a leaf.  Yet the sun shone bright enough to share the butterfly's shadow.

We had so much fun walking through the Hydrangea gardens and memorizing the day.

What better place than a stroll through Heritage Gardens, to take in all the bluest of blue Hydrangeas.

I have been meaning to add my Hydrangea photo collection into one post.  This seemed the ideal time.

You must know that I have taken about fifty photographs of these magnificent flowers.  I think I will save some for another post and pretend I am one of those elegant bloggers.

Well, I can't get enough Hydrangea love!

I have Hydrangeas at my door, and this year my Hydrangeas are beautiful in my garden.  I brought some in and put them in a vase for the den.

I hate to see the season end.  I just love these blue and violet blooms.

Dish Towel Inspiration

Recently I have been trying to keep my mind from being anxious.  Anticipation is always such a waste of time, when we really have little control of what will happen in our future.

To distract myself I  have been designing kitchen towels.  My new obsession. Everywhere I go, I see the most interesting kitchen towels.

Anticipation...nobody sings it better than Carly.  Carly Simon is writing her memoir.  She just celebrated her 68th birthday and you can find more about her latest news on her web site.

So, I decided to design four kitchen towels on one yard of Linen Cotton Canvas fabric.  Dishtowels by the yard.  A cut and sew design.  I made some of them up, to show you what they look like.

I designed Hydrangea dishtowels in four different designs.  These dishtowels have companion fabrics in my Cape Cod Hydrangea fabric collection.

Of course there had to be Little Women dishtowels.

I have designed a few more in my dishtowel fabric collection...

I am working on some Jane Austen dishtowels with some Jane Austen quotes.

Show and Tell Inspiration

I have known Celeste from Larea Rose for as long as I am blogging, and I love everything that she does.  Such a pretty packaged arrived.  Here's a bit of a serenade from Artie Shaw.

I ordered a beautiful hand-painted shell for RJ's room from her shop on Etsy called Celestina Marie Designs.

This will be perfect in RJ's nautical room.  I designed a fabric Collection called RJ's Puppy Sailboat.  Here's part of RJ's room.  When I finish the bunting I am sewing, I'll share more.

There's finally a new post on my fabric blog called French Script fabric.  I decided that was a good place to post about new designs.  I have to figure out how I can create an on-line fabric catalog.  I think after designing about 1,000 fabric designs, I better get organized.  In the mean-time I have added a board to Pinterest called My Fabric Collections.

The samples arrived for my new Inspiration Board Collection, which I posted about on the fabric blog.

I should be getting the samples for a new fabric collection any day now.  I'll share them on my fabric blog when they arrive.

The generous and wonderful Karen from the Graphics Fairy had this sensation graphic of an old French letter.  You know what a softie I am for ephemera.  I used her ephemera to create the frame for my Hydrangea design and added a bit of bunting too.

The new fabric collection is called French Hydrangeas.   I love how it ruffled so nicely for the stripe designs.

I found the image on Karen's French Typography.  Karen let's you use her amazing restored images for your work.  I remembered when I was stopping by to visit Celeste the other day.  I am going to share the fabric on Brag Monday, which Karen hosts.  A wonderful way to see how people use her graphics in all kinds of projects.

Have a dreamy day, and thanks for stopping by for my show and tell today.  I just love show and tell.
