I Need A Little Christmas

Merry Christmas, originally uploaded by bluebirdsandteapots.

I need a little Christmas mood to help me to paint Christmas. The photo collage is from 2007. No snow yet here in New England, but it was a bit chilly today.

Oh, I know you are probably thinking "CHRISTMAS...IT ISN'T EVEN THANKSGIVING." Yet, I always paint Santas in November. Last year around this time I was painting Vintage Santas and White Christmas houses.

I love to paint chalkware Santas ever since I visited the wonderful Vaillancourt Studios and took a class in painting their Vintage Santa Design.

Vaillancourt Folk Art

So, this year I started designing my 2008 Santa a few weeks ago.

Then I began to create a few tags,

Santa Love

prints, labels,

and hanging Santas too.

I just added my Pink Saturday Santa on Saturday to my Etsy shop and now I have added Red Santa Hanger.

I will be adding Santas to my Etsy Shop all month, I have some fun ideas that I can't wait to share.

I just changed my Etsy header to Christmas...

This month I will forever be in search of Santa inspiration. I promise to have a Santa giveaway too! Speaking of Giveaways...My friend Kathy from Kathy's cottage has been busy in her Santa Workshop too. Now, Kathy is celebrating her 300th post. How you ask? By giving away a piece of heaven. Go to Kathy's place and leave a comment and maybe just maybe you will win this gorgeous treasure.

looking for Christmas

I love to listen to Christmas music while I make things for the holidays.

I know that many of you are busy making gifts and adding Christmas treasures to your shops....So, the song for this post is We Need A Little Christmas. Stop by Joli-Paquet for a blog of Christmas kits and tutorials. Lori from that cute blog Faerie Window is the first tutorial that started on November 1st.

That new banner of yours does the trick already! I love this post as it is a feast for the eyes again. Is there already snow on your gazeebo outdoors? Or is it a picture of last year? Anyhow I love it, as I love the chocolate form, well everything actually! Mmm Christas in November, it's fun!

Your Santa is as cute as can be. I understand your need to start creating for Christmas early but it's too early for me. You would love our local Christian radio station. They were playing Christmas music yesterday!

Your santas are gorgeous, Karen! I'm having it hard to get into Christmas although I have managed to make a few tags. It's mild & sunny here today so I'm heading outside to enjoy it! Thanks for your lovely comment on my blog too!
