Help, I am going through Blogapause

DSC02568

I used to be able to join the latest blogging party without a hitch.

Mosaics I could design in my sleep,

Treasures from a Nature Trail

A Fanciful Twist extravaganza was a piece of cake.

I could find time as I drove to photograph things for Outdoor Wednesday,

Okay where's my sketchbook

and occasionally be home long enough to create a post and join a White Wednesday, a Show and Tell Friday

SWAN BOATS

or a porch party or two.

A Porch Party

Pink is my middle name so Pink Saturday came easy for me.

Pink Blossom

Lately, I just can't seem to run that fast.  I can't keep up with visiting all the blogs I love...probably because they are reaching 1,000 after so many years of blogging.

It used to come so easy for me, I had a rhythm and now I feel tone deaf.

When I see a blog who has linked to numerous parties I feel like the parade is passing me by.

The Tea Party

Did you know that there are ten blogging parties just for tea on Tuesdays?   I have so many teacups and teapots, but it takes so long to set the table, photograph the scene and then post.

Teddy Bear Tea

I don't know what is wrong with me...

You're Invited to a Virtual Tea Party

I feel like Diane Keaton in the movie Baby Boom.  Where she is a new mother and she is trying to keep up with a young new york business woman walking fast down the street.  And try as she might, she just couldn't do it.

Now I always loved to decorate, but I just can't think of a different way to set a table every Thursday.

I have so many interests that I get sidetracked when I enter this lovely hourglass of blogging abyss.

oooh oooh oooh there's an art blog...

there's a gorgeous interior decorating blog...

I really should visit so and so because I have been blogging with her for four years.

oooh oooh oooh there's a new and young and fresh and gorgeous blog.  Oh, I wonder what the Paris blogs are showing today?

Travel in Blogland

Well, you can see I am definitely going though Blogapause.  Blogapause is a bit like change of life but without the hot flashes.  I just feel so scattered lately.

So, please forgive me if I haven't been visiting your blogs and leaving comments.   Like my Grandmother used to say..."This too shall pass."  I still adore blogging and I always have time to share my feelings in a post.

The song for this post is from the music from Baby Boom.

You should come up north and take some wonderful pictures of the outdoors with the snow. Imagine a lovely morning where the trees are covered with about 6 inches of snow, its a beautiful wonderland, so peaceful, I love taking the camera and going for a walk, its amazing the pictures you never thought you'd take.

Your pictures are gorgeous...

Oh Karen, this too shall pass!!! It's true, it will. I only do Pink Saturday for the very reasons you gave. I just couldn't keep up and would feel like I wasn't keeping up my end of the bargin!! One party a week is about all I can do and I enjoy it to the fullest. You do such great work and photos, you will be back at the parties in no time.....Char

Dearest Karen, I WENT THROUGH A BLOGAPAUSE MOMENT YESTERDAY! I usually wake up around 3:30am just to respond to my comments and visit all the new posts. I was so exhausted from the weekend's moving and painting and hauling of furniture into our new rooms that it left me so spent that I woke up late: 4:30am. WHO IN THE WORLD SAYS 4:30am is late, other than me? And I LOVE BLOGGING but yesterday, I was so behind. It seemed like I had a slew of wonderful comments that I simply could not answer. I felt out of sorts ALL DAY LONG, just because of that! I ran home after school to finish my responses, visit and then I could settle in. I can't even attend or participate in these parties, because I have NO TALENT or TIME to take pictures and join in! But I have to admit that I have made many dear friends that DO understand, and I know that your readers see how much love and talent you put into your posts. "This too shall pass", indeed.

LOVE TO YOU, Anita

You are not alone. I feel the same things. For me, I think it is a combination of age (57) and working full time. I have to keep in mind that many bloggers are much younger and stay-at-home wives. I am also single, so all the responsibilities of a home fall on my shoulders. I would love to post every day and do creative things, but the reality is, that it takes a lot of time and energy and some days we just don't have it. I am a very driven person without the energy to support my drive which leaves me often frustrated. Plus, I find that being creative drains my energy levels as if I'd run a marathon. I am trying to learn to accept my time and energy limitations, but sometimes it is a struggle as you see others blogging circles around you. Take heart ~ you are understood and not alone. I feel your frustration :)

Glad to know I am not alone in feeling a bit overwhelmed at times with what I want to blog and what I have time to blog. And then so many blogs to read and enjoy.....

Balance is what I keep telling myself....

Hello Karen,

Of course! I need time to create, design and teach my workshops.
Today I am back participating in Pink Saturday but it's the only party I have time for...

It's okay to be overwhelmed, it happens all the time...I can't keep up and work full time, so I just enjoy the moment. The most wonderful part of blogging is the bloggers, they are so nice and so understanding!!!!

Well I'm glad that you have coined the term. I'm smack in the middle of it also, though truth to tell, I'm always so scattered that I've never been able to join many parties. Don't you worry, you'll get back whatever you want back and you'll let go whatever's not working for you right now. Next month spring will arrive and I think that may prove to be a cure for many ills.

I know what you mean...except, I hardly have ever joined any parties. But since I have been recovering from my shoulder surgery, I have nothing really new to blog about! I am not decorating, painting, planting...It takes me most of the morning just to get showered, dressed and do my hour's worth of shoulder rehab exercises. Then twice a week, I am off to therapy for my shoulder for an hour and a half.

So my blogs have been boring, and I am sure some bloggers will stop visiting soon....:-(.

Hopefully I will be back on track in the near future.
Hugs,
Penny
p.s. I love have always loved your blog. I stop by everytime you post something new, but I know you understand if I don't always leave a comment.

I must say that I do know what you mean. I keep telling myself that I will be able to do more if I ever get to retire, but who knows.

The one thing I do know is that Pink Saturday just isn't the same without you. You've been there since the beginning, and we all adore you.

Take time to refresh.♥

I know what you mean Karen, with school and work and family life I haven't been commenting as often, although I have you on my reader and ALWAYS stop by to see what you are up to! So many awesome blogs and so little time. We all just have to do the best we can.

Good grief, I can barely put up a post once a week, let alone joining blogging parties and what not! I would never get any work done if I spent any more time visiting blogs than I already do, as much as I love em. So, I think you are doing a pretty good job!

Look at all the chords you have hit at once.

With the passing of my sister recently, I have found that all we can do is put one foot in front of the other.

Before visiting and giving a comment was my lifes blood. I still stop by my favorites (yours always one of my top!)

But I think I am going to slow down a bit... see what adventure turns into delight, right now my desire for commenting on everyones hard work will have to pause for a bit till I get my barrings.

Its good to know there are others like me... and I am glad you put a name to it :)

Hugs GF.

Hahaha...if it makes you feel any better...you're certainly not alone. But what a great post came out of this blogapause!

Well here's another going through the same thing!Blogapause...that's a great name for it!
Time just runs too fast, too many interesting blogs, too many interesting things to do....just too many of everything.
Life must have it's own pace, I miss to just go out for a walk and breath in...without thinking "Damn I should have brought my camera so I could share this beautiful view..." One can't be everywhere, visit every one, and please others by posting on the blog...There's a time for everything. But good friends are still there...even if ther's not been a post for a while!...I hope :)
