Life Lessons

I looked out my window tonight, and I noticed this heart in the snow.  The way the snow covered the outdoor light it created the shape of a heart.

As I stood looking at it, I was reminded of a time when I missed the snow.

When I craved being able to watch as the snow would sweep across a snow covered lake.

When I missed being able to make footprints in the snow.

To be able to walk along snowy trails and feel the cold wind against my face.

To be able to capture the last bit of a sunset, making the snow shimmer and the ice sparkle on the trees.

A time when I missed the silence of snow.

Just like that heart reminded me tonight.
We need to memorize the beauty around us today,
so that it will blanket us
when it's beauty is but a memory.

"Do not spoil what you have, by desiring what you have not;
remember that what you now have
was once among the things you only hoped for."

I suppose eventually I could miss snow. I always love it around Christmas. Truth be told, it is probably more the short dark days of winter that I don't love.
Not only did the light make a heart, it glows!

WOW. That the light glimmered under the snow in the shape of a heart is a little miracle in itself. But the pondering of your heart and composition of your thoughts with the quote you chose, now that is a miracle to me this morning. I tell ya Karen, the OLDER I get, the younger I feel. WHY? Because learning and realizing that GOD gives you LIFE LESSONS is the most invigorating elixir. And thank YOU my dear for coming to visit my post. It is not a Valentine's Day post per say, but just a whim I had to translate a French song. I so appreciate your understanding of my style. I wish I could make a MOVIE!!

Be well on this cold but beautiful morning. Anita

You know- that little heart is beautiful. What a wonderful post! I had a similar experience the past week -in a different sort of way- knowing that I was going to be missing my brother I tried to memorize every angle of his face and remember how blue his beautiful eyes were- a memory that will hold me for a lifetime- xo Diana

This is a lovely post, my sweet friend. And, it offers one of life's most important lessons. Take the time to notice and appreciate the blessings around us. They are there.♥
