Post cards from Baby Shower Inspiration

We are so blessed today.

Once upon a time I might have received a pretty card in my mailbox every now and then.  Now I not only receive pretty cards in my e-mail, but a weekly texture from Kim Klassen to play with... Kim always creates the most interesting textures here is a postcard and texture I just received over the weekend.

I received my new fabric design, which is French script bunting using most of my French script fabric designs.

I just shipped it to Judy Ginns in Brisbane Australia.  I can't wait to see what she does with this fabric.  I love her designs on Chasing Mini on Etsy. Look at the ruffle added to this adorable little dress.

Etsy creates the perfect environment for you to get to know such lovely people.  They start out as a customer and soon they become a friend who blesses your life.

Another blessing is the many ways we can create pretty things today.
Baby Shower favors were on my Baby Shower checklist.  Last week my friend Karen helped me to cut out the boxes for favors from her personal die.  Her little scalloped tops just make them perfect.

Blessing of good friends are another reason to be thankful.
Over the years I have taken so many classes from Karen Provost.  She has been a true inspiration in my life both personally and creatively.  Check out today's post with a recipe for a journal page and tonight's supper.

Then my friend Joyce from Nanas Little Hobby, helped me to assemble all the boxes.

Joyce paints my days with blessings all the time.  This is a photo I took of her during a recent trip to Martha's Vineyard.

Joyce always shares her blessings with me, like her sweet little granddaughter, Kate helped us too.  You might recognize this adorable little girl from our Mad Tea party.

Now I am using my little Samantha Sea horse design for the top and I'll tie them with ribbons.

Inside are chocolates covered in the same candy paper design, I added a bit of tulle.

Music, how it blesses our days.  We can choose any music at all to serenade our day.  Rain or shine melodies can brighten our days.  Another Katie I love is Katie Mulua, she sings Gold in Them Hills for this post.  I love the words:

"But if we'd only open our eyes
We'd see the blessings in disguise
That all the rain clouds are fountains
Though our troubles seem like mountains."

Tonight we start a cake decorating class.  I'll take pictures to share.  What fun. I am having so much fun creating things for this baby shower, I am going to need a new project when it's over.

Baby Shower Inspirations III

Planning a baby shower is so much fun.  Here is an update to the Baby Shower inspirations.  I previously posted about the Baby Shower plans.

Added to my baby shower checklist was a way to tie in my chandelier baby shower decorations into the tablescape.   I wanted to find ideas to give me the best baby shower, but I didn't find too many chandelier ideas that worked for my design.

I had a basic idea how I wanted to match the theme in the room and add it to my chandelier.

I took flower petals and assembled them into a rosette, using my fabric as the top layer of petals.  I cut out the shape of the top layer with one of my Samantha Seahorse fabric swatches.

After assembling the petals the way I wanted them to look, I sewed them together using a bit of felt on the bottom to anchor the rosette.

(My petals are vintage ones that I purchased at an Antique market.  They are originally flowers used for millinery).  Here is a link to a Millinery Flower pattern which you can use to cut out your own flowers out of your favorite fabrics.

After sewing it together, I added a button at the bottom and sewed it to the felt.  I like doing this because it gives you lots of ways to use the rosette.  I simply tied a bit of tulle around the button and then I could tie it to my lampshade without hurting the shade.

By sewing a button on the bottom, not only do you anchor the rosette, but you can tie it to a gift, or to something you want to decorate.  Sometimes I sew the rosette to the ribbon before it is tied to a gift.  Then the person that the gift is for, gets to use the rosette for something else.

So, this is how it looks on the shade.  I like the way the tulle makes it look like a hat.  I am going to use A Tea Party theme for the main food table buffet.  So, it seems appropriate that my little shades will be wearing hats to my tea.

When I finish all eight shades, I will photograph the chandelier and share the finale.

My inspiration for my rosettes comes from my beloved little treasure of a book by Kaari Meng called Treasured Notions.   French General

While I am in the process of planning the shower, I thought I would add links of inspiration to my sidebar.  I have found some really cute baby shower inspirations.

I hope I sewed some inspiration into your day today.  Wishing you a lovely day.

Baby Shower Inspiration

This has been my view most of the week.  Wish I could say I feel better, but this virus still has it's grip.

I am so grateful to my mom who always handed me a coloring book and a box of crayons when I was sick as a child.

So, I have been getting plenty of rest, drinking lots of tea, and creating things for the baby shower next month.  I created an inspiration board...there always has to be an inspiration board.  I created the Diaper Cake last week.

I'll share more when all the decorations are done.

I designed fabric out of my baby shower invitation.  I found an easy and inexpensive way to create a lovely shower invitation, which I will share when I am feeling better.

Don't worry my daughter doesn't read my blog, she's a Facebook kinda gal.  These are going to be the top design on the favor boxes, which my friend Karen is helping me create.

My new fabric is due to arrive this week, along with my Sea Horse fabric.  The theme is baby Sea Creatures.   I am going to create rosettes for my chandelier shades using my fabric and Vintage flower petals. I am also thinking table runner.

I designed this banner this morning using my Sea Horse design and some lovely graphics from Sonya of Sonya Heart Designs on Etsy.  I scanned my design to size to the sea green card stock.  I just printed them out and now I will cut the overlay design and paste it to the sea green card stock this afternoon.

As my gift for you stopping by today, and for my Pink Saturday friends over at Bev's How Sweet The Sound, I created some stationery for you to download.  I chose t his week's theme to be Little Ballerina. To download your stationery click  Page One. to download and  Page Two, to download page two.  You don't have to wait for the downloading circle to stop, just click on the download button.

ishing you a beautiful weekend, with lots of blue sky,  stacks of coloring books and a new box of crayons for you to color your day with
your favorite colors.
